Texas Criminal Justice Coalition – political advocacy
The Texas Criminal Justice Coalition (TCJC) is committed to identifying and advancing real solutions to the problems facing Texas ’ juvenile and criminal justice systems. We provide policy research and analysis, form effective partnerships, and educate key stakeholders to promote effective management, accountability, and best practices that increase public safety and preserve human and civil rights.
Texas Jail Project – advocacy for inmates in Texas county jails
The Texas Jail Project is dedicated to improving the conditions for approximately 70,000 people—mothers, fathers, brothers, sons, sisters and daughters—incarcerated in Texas jails on any given day.
Texas Voices for Reason and Justice
Texas Voices For Reason & Justice supports the prevention of child sexual abuse through carefully structured laws that target violent, forced, and/or dangerous predatory acts of sex against children. Existing laws encompass a wide range of offenders and require the exact same resources be used for both violent, dangerous offenders and those whose offenses were neither violent, forced, nor dangerous. Current laws, as structured, are not keeping our children safe. They are, in fact, costing the taxpayer millions of dollars to prosecute, monitor, incarcerate, and severely punish many individuals who are of no danger to children, society, or the communities in which they live. We believe that laws which will truly benefit the safety of our children and society in general must differentiate between those who are dangerous offenders and those who are not.
Windham School District
The mission of the Windham School District (WSD) is to provide appropriate educational programming and services to meet the needs of the eligible offender population in TDCJ and reduce recidivism by assisting offenders in becoming responsible, productive members of their communities.
