The 89th Legislative Session is scheduled to meet from January 14, 2025, to June 2, 2025. The earliest date a Bill can be filed is November 11, 2024. If you aren’t talking to your Representatives, do so now.
Who represents me, and how do I contact them?
Go to: https://fyi.capitol.texas.gov/Home.aspx and type in your address.
- Your address determines your district and the Texas State Senator and Texas State Representative who represent you. Your Texas State Senator represents your Senate District, and your Texas State Representative represents your House District. If you live in their district, you are their constituent.
- You will be given information about the District and Capitol offices. I recommend calling the Capital Office during the session and the District Office during the interim.
- Calling during office hours (8-5, M-F) and not during lunch or weekends will ensure better chances of speaking with someone when you call.
- The staff member taking the call will take brief notes on the subject of the call and the next steps. Most likely, the information they gather is the 1-2 sentences you give of why you are calling.
- The simpler, clearer, and more direct you are in what you are calling for, what you need, and what you are expecting from the office will assist the staff in not only getting your concerns across, but also determining if they are the correct contact and how they can best help you.
