TIFA Mission

You Are Not Alone

Few events in life are more devastating than having a family member or close friend who is incarcerated. Texas Inmate Families Association (TIFA) members have united to support families affected by having a loved one in the Texas criminal justice system and to improve the conditions and life chances of Texas inmates.

Where the Family Fits In

About 200,000 adult men and women are incarcerated at any one time in county jails and state correctional facilities in Texas.

PACT Conference to be held on March 24, 2012 - for more information, click here!

The PACT Conference will be held at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville on March 24, 2012. Our newsletter, 'Contact Winter 07-08', (see Public Documents) has the history of the Public Awareness - Corrections Today (PACT) Conference. At this conference, many of our members have been able to talk with someone from TDCJ who was then able to help them with a problem they were having. One mom got her son moved from a unit where his life was in danger.

We seldom have the opportunity to be heard . . .  now is one of those times. Please complete our Sunset Review Survey (on the Public Documents page).
